Life Lately

Wow y’all it has been a while! I am so sorry for the lack of posts but I have been very busy with cheerleading (its finally nationals season), sorority, school, and last but not least at the beginning of the semester I was battling the JM-flU/cold as we like to call it. However, I am back and hope to catch you up with what life as been like lately.

Lately I have been adventuring in our little town of Harrisonburg, enjoying what the scenery has to offer with friends, while trying to balance a little school work too! I went with some friends to Silver Lake Mill to watch the sunset and it was absolutely breathtaking!

My friends and I took a trip down to Bridgewater were we got to ice-skate, and then a few days later my cheer team went tubing at Massanutten, a local ski resort!

That has been my life lately and although it is busy, I would never trade it for the world.

Stay tuned for more!

Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day!

New Year, New Planner

IMG_1493

Hi y’all! Hope everyone had a relaxing break, I know I sure did! Now it is back to grind of school, cheer (which includes Nationals), and of course blogging! My new goal for the new year…to post more! I love to write and take pictures for y’all to see and my hope is that this year I can do just that!

To begin the year off, what is better than an organization post about this planner that I am obsessed with! Previously I have used a Lily Planner and have loved them, however I have been finding with my schedule I needed something with a little more room to write. After reading Emily Ley’s book Grace Not Perfection (highly suggest), I wanted to indulge in one of her Simplified Planners. She has so many wonderful patterns, however my favorite is the pink with the gold polka-dots.

I love that there is a calendar view, and for each individual day there is a schedule as well as a To Do list. It makes it so much easier to get organized for the week ahead and for me to see what I am up to for that particular week.

As of now I have a lot of purple (aka all the cheer stuff) marked on my calendar that I have going on this month! Once the semester starts going I will have lots of other colors that represent my classes and sorority. I highly suggest color coding in that you can instantly recognize what class pertains to that particular assignment. Also cross off what you get accomplished, it is always a good feeling to get everything done on your “To Do” list!

In this particular planner, I love that each day there is a quote that is inspiring. With all the rush that goes on in a day of a(n) college student/athlete/sorority girl/blogger, (have I mentioned I like to stay busy) it allows me to look back and see how the quote can pertain to my particular life.

All in all with a New Year in order, a New planner was a necessity!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Wanderlust 1: Disney World

There is something about Disney World that gets you feeling like a kid again. I love seeing all the characters and the happiness that the company really puts into their parks. This Christmas my family and I took a much needed vacation down to Orlando, Florida where we stayed in the Kidani Villages! This hotel is absolutely amazing because it is right next to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so we had the safari animals right out our balcony! We saw giraffes, ostriches, zebras, wilder-beasts, and in the early mornings we could hear the cows mooing outside our door!

Here are some pictures from our trip!

The first day we went to Animal Kingdom where we went on the Safari Ride, and saw lots of the animals! We went at the perfect time too because a lot of them were out and about!

The second day we went to Epcot, which is my favorite because I love to travel and it was a great to see all different types of countries in one sitting!

We lastly went to Magic Kingdom to experience all the amazing rides, and to see the castle all lit up for the holidays! Look how breathtaking it was!

Dress it Up

Hi Y’all!  Hope you are enjoying your break as much as I am! Today I wanted to continue the holiday look book with my good friend Alli! This outfit is a bit fancier, and would be the perfect ensemble to all your New Years party’s! Again if you are interested in Alli’s outfit please check out her blog here!

For this outfit I decided to wear my cranberry dress that is super soft and comfortable. It has bell sleeves and a great detail in the back that makes up for its simplicity.

This cranberry color is so in this year, and with some fun heels it can be a super chic outfit!

I opted for my bow heels that are super comfortable despite the thin heel!

Home for the Holidays

Christmas is always an excuse to dress up, but each occasion can be a little different. You have the typical Ugly Christmas Party, New Years Eve, and everything in between. Today I thought I would bring you a look for those casual get togethers that involve Secret Santa and good food.

I am so excited to be partnering with Allison in Wonderland for this blog post! If you have not checked out her blog you MUST read it! She is an amazing friend and her outfits are to die for! Look for more on her outfit details on her blog!

Layering sweaters over skirts is one of my favorite looks this season. I took a summery jean skirt, and paired it with this maroon Christmas sweater that would be perfect for all those Holiday events coming up.

Pom-Pom hats are IN this year! This one is from a local boutique back home but here are some super cute ones that would look absolutely cute with any winter outfit you have put together!
